Kapamilya actress Kaila Estrada has this reaction when asked about her mom, award-winning actress Janice de Belen’s statement that she is a “better actress.”
Kaila started in showbiz a few years ago. Being the daughter of Janice and actor John Estrada, it was inevitable that there would be comparisons to what her parents have achieved in their careers, especially the career path of her mom.
Janice was known as a teen star and became one of the most prominent stars of her generation. She has received awards and recognition for her acting stints.
Despite Janice de Belen’s achievements as an actress, she considers her daughter Kaila Estrada the “better actress.”
Kaila has been gaining the attention of many fans because of her acting caliber. She is one of the main cast members of the upcoming series What Lies Beneath.
During a recent media conference for the said project, Kaila was asked about her mom’s statement about her acting caliber. “Thanks, mom!” Kaila quipped, but she said, “I disagree.”
For her, as parents, her mother and father just want to express how proud they are of her. Kaila said that her mom is a living legend and that she looks up to her in all aspects of life, not just being an actress.
“Having said that, nandito rin ako para ipagmalaki siya,” Kaila said about her mom, adding that she is so proud to be the daughter of Janice de Belen.
The Kapamilya actress also said that she is proud of what her mom has achieved in the entertainment industry, and she could only wish that she could achieve what her mom has achieved.
Meanwhile, regarding the challenges she faced in doing her upcoming series, Kaila Estrada said that it was the “restraint” and picking her battles. She shared that there were scenes in which she was already crying, but the directors would order her to wipe her tears because she shouldn’t be crying in that scene.
