Caught on CCTV: Brothers Suddenly Drop to the Ground After Smoking ‘Tuklaw’
TUKLAW – A terrifying scene unfolded in Sampaloc, Manila, when two brothers suddenly convulsed and collapsed in the middle of the street after allegedly using a dangerous substance known as “tuklaw.”
Two young brothers from Sampaloc, Manila, were rushed to the hospital on Saturday afternoon after suddenly collapsing and convulsing in the middle of the street. Authorities suspect that their condition was caused by the use of a dangerous substance locally known as “black cigarette” or “tuklaw.”
CCTV footage obtained by police showed one of the victims attempting to cross the road when he suddenly began to convulse, his body shaking uncontrollably as his eyes rolled back before collapsing to the ground. Moments later, his brother, who rushed to his aid, also lost control of his body and fell beside him.

Witnesses at the scene described the incident as terrifying. They said the second brother briefly managed to stand up but appeared disoriented, suddenly punching his sibling several times before collapsing again. The shocking scene caused panic among bystanders, who quickly alerted the authorities for help.
Responding officers from the Manila Police District immediately transported the brothers, aged 17 and 19, to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Medical personnel said both remain under close observation as doctors monitor their recovery and the potential effects of the substance.
Initial police investigation indicated that the siblings had been seen earlier in the area, allegedly smoking before the incident occurred. Investigators suspect that the substance they consumed, referred to as “tuklaw,” may have triggered severe seizures and temporary paralysis.

Authorities have yet to determine the exact chemical composition of “tuklaw,” but it is believed to be a combination of harmful and addictive elements that can cause intense hallucinations, loss of consciousness, and violent behavior.
Police are now tracing the source of the illegal substance and investigating whether other individuals were involved in its distribution. Officials also reminded the public, especially the youth, to stay away from experimental or unidentified drugs that can lead to life-threatening consequences.
As of this writing, both brothers remain confined in the hospital, while authorities continue their probe into the incident that has once again raised concerns about the growing circulation of hazardous street substances in the city.
