In a post, Pinky Amador threw shade at Anthony Taberna, and the famous broadcaster has this response to the post.
Theater and TV actress Pinky Amador posted a clip of her throwing shade. She was walking to a kiosk of Anthony “Ka Tunying” Taberna in an undisclosed location, and as she approached the store, she expressed, while pointing at the signage, “Bibili sana ako ng fake news.”
Ka Tunying is the name of Taberna’s bakeshop chain, which offers baked goods, coffee, and Filipino dishes. It operates kiosks in malls and airports.
“Ingat po tayong lahat sa mga papapakin natin. Maging mapanuri sa mga balita, iwasan ang pagpapakalat ng maling impormasyon,” she wrote on the caption of her with hashtags #Satire, #LabanSaFakeNews and #KurakotIkulong. The video quickly went viral, and with the buzz it created, the famous broadcaster replied to it.
In a post, Taberna’s response with a red background was: “Ma’am Pinky Amador, wala pong fake news sa amin. Pero try nyo po ang MALUTONG na MURA pa na rice crackers.”
Taberna, on the other hand, is currently under fire after people unraveled his past endorsements of an insurance firm linked to the controversial contractor couple, Sarah and Curlee Discaya.
In 2022, the insurance firm Stronghold Insurance Company Inc. introduced Taberna as its first brand endorser through a Facebook post.
Stronghold is reportedly the company providing bonds for the flood control projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways, which are handled by Discaya. In a statement, the firm stated it is not aware of the contract between the contractor and the government and denied having any connection with the Discaya couple.
Taberna also drew attention after saying in a vlog that Senator Risa Hontiveros put infrastructure project allocations in the proposed national budget for this year. However, Senator Risa Hontiveros denied this accusation.
