Actress and content creator Donnalyn Bartolome couldn’t help but express her deep admiration and gratitude for her boyfriend, actor JM de Guzman. In an emotional Instagram post earlier this week, Donnalyn shared how JM has thoughtfully planned their future together — even affectionately calling her “asawa ko.”
The couple, who have been officially together for over a year, have a love story that began long before their relationship was made public. Donnalyn revealed that JM had been pursuing her for quite some time, proving his consistency and determination to win her heart.
“Sharing thoughts for all the women out there like me. Women are born with all the egg cells they’ll ever have in their life. Wasting our time should be a crime,” Donnalyn wrote, encouraging women to be more discerning about the people they allow into their lives.
In her post, Donnalyn reminisced about JM’s persistence, recalling how he would subtly keep her suitors at bay even before she agreed to be his girlfriend. Once she said yes, JM immediately began referring to her as “asawa ko,” a term of endearment that made her feel deeply valued and cherished.
She even posted a screenshot of one of their early conversations, where JM confidently revealed his “plan” for their relationship — marriage. “In this conversation, nag uusap kami about our status, what are we doing, you know… just for clarity, and I got this unexpected response— The Plan. Now that’s a MAN!” Donnalyn shared proudly.
The content creator went on to explain that JM’s sincere and public way of expressing love helped her understand what she truly wants in a relationship. “Kaya kahit I don’t normally publicize my relationship, I did. I followed his lead. Now I understand, ganun nga naman talaga dapat: intention, wag ilusyon. Don’t settle for less ladies. Never. Benefitting from your love tapos walang plano? That’s their role: to provide, to lead, to plan,” she said.
