This issue has been one of the most talked-about topics, not just on social media but almost everywhere, since many Filipinos are fed up with the revelations about how the people’s money was wasted.

It was also reported that Senator Ping Lacson, the head of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, intended to step down. Lacson cited that he has offended his fellow Senators. It was said that some lawmakers were questioning why he did not invite former House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Rep. Zaldy Co to testify. The two politicians were allegedly involved in the flood control project anomalies. Co is no longer in the county. The most recent reports claimed that he went to Spain.

Reportedly, some Senators were also offended when Lacson said that “almost all senators” made budget insertions in the 2025 national budget, and reportedly, this has reached over P100 billion.

As the Senate hearing halted, Pres. Bongbong Marcos said in a recent statement that taking time is important when it comes to this matter. For him, it would be useless that just because of insufficient evidence, the case would be dismissed.

Based on the report from Abante, the Chief Executive said, “Look, ano mangyayari, minamadali natin, hindi kumpletio ang ebidensya natin? Malabo yung ebidensya natin pero pilinit natin? Natalo yung kaso. Can you imagine?” the President said.

Marcos also stressed that it is important to have a thorough investigation so that this would not be a hindrance to the strong aim of the administration to fight corruption.
