In an interview, Shuvee Etrata shares her post was taken out of context.
Kapuso actress-host Shuvee Etrata clarifies the old posts and videos she shared that is currently creating a loud buzz online.
Kapuso actress Shuvee Etrata has deactivated her X (formerly Twitter) account after receiving backlash over resurfaced videos and posts. Netizens noticed earlier this week that the account of the former Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition housemate was no longer accessible.
Shuvee was also missing in It’s Showtime, and people online were speculating that it could be because of her old posts about the ABS-CBN shutdown and her video where she spoke about ABS-CBN superstar Vice Ganda. Her absence has reignited discussions online.
According to Ogie Diaz, Shuvee Etrata has been on a break, though it remains unclear whether this was her own decision or one made by the production team of It’s Showtime or her home network, GMA.
Recently, speaking to MJ Felipe, she made clarification about her old posts. She can well-receive the constructive criticisms, but the comments filled with hate were something she could not take. She doesn’t understand where all those negativities have come from.
Shuvee explained that her past posts were taken out of context. She clarified that she was, in fact, against the ABS-CBN shutdown. She also recalled previously posting that ABS-CBN had become a cultural staple for someone like her who grew up watching the network as an avid fan.
As for using Vice’s meme about the shutdown, it appears it had become a bad taste of humor for many. She even wanted to talk to the superstar about it and the other matters that she believed, have been blown out of proportion.
She assured the public that she has changed. She admitted to making certain decisions in the past, but emphasized that she is now a better person whose choices are guided by the intention of contributing to the well-being of others.
