Sam YG Slams Corruption & Calls for Relief for Taxpayers

Sam YG Echoes Public Outcry Over Corruption & Lack of Action

SAM YG – Popular host Sam YG has sparked conversations online after voicing strong criticism against corruption in flood control projects and their impact on Filipino taxpayers.

Events host and former radio personality Sam YG has taken to social media to share his frustrations regarding corruption in the country, particularly in flood control projects. In his post, he stressed that Filipinos are burdened more by corruption than by natural disasters, urging that citizens deserve relief if public funds are continuously misused.

Sam did not mince words as he aired his sentiments, saying that while natural calamities like flooding affect communities, the deeper problem lies in the misuse of government resources. He lamented how systemic corruption has left ordinary taxpayers suffering while those in power remain unaccountable.

“More than drowning in floods, we are drowning in CORRUPTION. When the law no longer protects us from the corrupt but PROTECTS the CORRUPT from us, we are in deep trouble. Time to wake up. Nothing changes if nothing changes,” Sam wrote.

The well-known host further questioned the fairness of Filipinos continuing to pay taxes if these contributions allegedly fund the lavish lifestyles of corrupt officials.

“Can we also stop paying taxes till the government gets its act together? Imagine… we’ve been paying for all the luxury cars, trips, bags, etc. of these corrupt people all along. Baka pwedeng tax break muna?” he added.

Sam also voiced disappointment over the endless hearings that dominate headlines but fail to produce concrete results. “Sana ‘di puro hearing. Sana may mangyari,” he emphasized, noting the lack of accountability in many investigations.

His remarks resonated with netizens, many of whom shared his frustrations online. The post added to the growing public discourse on transparency, accountability, and the need for meaningful reforms in governance.

While Sam did not point fingers at specific officials, his statements mirror the sentiments of many Filipinos who feel disillusioned by recurring corruption scandals. The idea of a “tax break,” though symbolic, highlights the collective exhaustion of citizens who feel they are constantly paying for inefficiency and dishonesty in the system.

Sam YG remains a prominent figure in Philippine media, remembered for his role as one of the hosts of Boys Night Out on Magic 89.9 and as a former co-host on Eat Bulaga.
