Oil Price Hike Expected on Tuesday September 9, 2025 (Tuesday)
FUEL PRICE UPDATE – The Department of Energy (DOE) is expecting another oil price hike for third consecutive weeks.
Filipino motorists in the country were advised to brace for higher fuel costs next week as oil prices are expected to increase starting September 9, 2025 (Tuesday).
For gasoline users, this will be the fourth consecutive increase, adding to the strain on commuters and transport operators already feeling the pinch.

Industry monitoring shows that pump prices could see adjustments of around P1.00 per liter for gasoline, P1.40 for diesel, and 80 centavos for kerosene. These projections are based on international oil trading over the past four days, according to the energy department.
Several global developments are pushing prices upward. Recent sanctions by the United States have targeted Iran’s oil revenues, limiting global supply. Saudi Arabia and Iraq also suspended shipments to India’s Nayara Energy following sanctions from the European Union.
On top of that, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues to disrupt oil production, with reports of airstrikes damaging processing facilities and reducing Russian exports.

Local fuel companies are expected to release their official price adjustments on Monday, with changes taking effect the next day.
For many Filipinos, especially jeepney and delivery drivers, the continued increase in fuel costs means tighter budgets and higher daily expenses. Families relying on private vehicles for work and school runs will also feel the impact, as weekly trips become more costly.
Experts suggest motorists plan ahead and manage their trips wisely to lessen the effect of rising fuel prices. Simple steps like carpooling, regular vehicle maintenance, and combining errands into one trip can help save fuel.
