Dingdong Dantes shared Marian Rivera’s reaction to his new series
Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes was asked if his wife, Primetime Queen Marian Rivera, has something to say about his leading ladies.
Dingdong’s latest project is the action-drama series The Master Cutter. In this series, actress-model Max Collins was chosen to be his leading lady.
Previously, Max shared that she asked for Marian’s “blessing” before making the series with Dingdong, as a sign of respect.
In a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Dingdong Dantes shared that his wife enjoyed watching the pilot episodes of the series.
“She watched it. Napagod din siya, even me. Parang na-feel niya yung pagod ng characters on screen. Natuwa siya (at the same time),” the actor enthused.
He was also asked to react to Max Collins’s statement that she asked for Marian Rivera’s permission.
Dingdong said that he did not know about this, but he saw it in an article, and Marian was not able to tell him about this. However, for the actor, it was a sweet gesture. “I mean they’re friends, Max is a very good friend. We are together in PPL Entertainment, (same talent) management company,” he said.
Dingdong and Max worked together in several projects, like “Pahiram ng Sandali,” “Firefly,” and “Only We Know.”
The actor said that since then, they have been friends. “And lalo na ngayon magkasama kami… I saw her growth as an actress, as an artist and I’m so proud of her. In fact, mas close pa nga sila ni Marian kesa sa amin kaya nakakatuwa na they have that kind of friendship. So I think that’s so sweet,” he said.
When asked if he seeks Marian’s approval in terms of his choice of leading ladies in a project, the actor said, “Walang ganun. It should be a creative decision and a decision of the producers.”
Dingdong Dantes added that in The Master Cutter, his wife did not intervene in choosing his leading lady. The actor said that Max was the perfect choice for the role.
