In Bulacan, the President found a ‘ghost’ Riverwall project that cost the government more than P55 million. The receipts showed that the structure was already paid in full but there was no structure when the Chief Executive arrived at the place. Amid the heat of the flood control projects issue in the country, all four (4) children of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte are in The Hague, Netherlands.

All four (4) Duterte siblings recently visited their dad, Rodrigo, inside the detention facility of the ICC (International Criminal Court) in The Hague, Netherlands. After their visit, the Vice President and the acting Davao City Mayor was asked about their side on the issue of flood control projects in the Philippines.

According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, she does not want to give a free advice on the flood control projects issue in the country. She stressed that she will just watch their “circus” and “zarzuela”.
The Vice President also claimed that the Marcos Jr. administration should what she does which is exploring the world to ask about the suggestions of the Filipino communities abroad. As for acting Davao Mayor Baste Duterte, his city has its own flood control plans but their budget is not enough. He claimed that the issue of flood control projects is allegedly used as a “publicity stunt”.

Amid the issue, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan resigned. Malacañang reacted to the comments of the Dutertes over the issue of flood control projects in the country.
“Mga ganitong komento mula sa kanila pero wala naman suhestiyong ibinibigay sa pagresolba sa problema ay hindi nakakatulong sa bayan,” Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro said.
Furthermore, the Malacañang press official also cited that the Dutertes could allegedly help by informing the public about the 13,917 flood control projects under their father’s administration. According to her, they should tell the Filipinos if the said projects exist, are operational, or effective in addressing the problem about flooding.
Meanwhile, Castro clarified that Pres. Bongbong Marcos is open to “sensible suggestions” from the Dutertes. According to the Palace official, the President is open to all meaningful suggestions.
“At kung mayroon naman silang matinong suhestiyon, bukas naman ang Pangulo na makinig sa lahat,” Castro said.
Following the resignation of Bonoan, Vince Dizon was appointed as the new DPWH Chief and he confirmed that he will order the “courtesy resignation” of all DPWH officials nationwide. He also spoke on the contractors.
