ABS-CBN superstar Kathryn Bernardo is set to have a TV series comeback with actor James Reid, and here’s what she said about it.
KATHREID? The wait is finally over as stars Kathryn Bernardo and James Reid are finally bringing KathReid to life through a series. What was once a fan’s fantasy is now a reality as they are finally joining forces, and people just can’t get enough.
The buzz kicked off when Dreamscape Entertainment teased Asia’s Superstar’s comeback with an intriguing phrase that said “someone is joining her,” and that was when Reid stepped into the frame. Photos of them together emerged online and were shared on different platforms. The shots went viral and ignited a frenzy.
To recall, Bernardo’s last series was the 2022 rom-com 2 Good 2 Be True with Daniel Padilla, followed by a big-screen project with Alden Richards in Hello, Love, Again, the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time. A breather from acting, she became a judge on Pilipinas Got Talent.
Meanwhile, Reid’s last TV appearance was in 2016’s Till I Met You with Nadine Lustre. He then took a break and focused on making and producing music. After years of lying low in acting, he is finally making a comeback.
Speaking about working with the actor, the ABS-CBN superstar actress broke her silence and expressed that she also did not expect the team-up to materialize. She quipped, “I did not expect this too, baka si James hindi niya rin in-expect.”
She also recalled telling the actor how things playfully turned out to be. Coming from different love teams, their paths crossed, and they are now the ones working together, which makes his comeback exciting for both of them. For her, it just shows that nothing is really impossible.
“Nakakatuwa, kasi everyone is excited. Kasi matagal na rin my last teleserye and also with James, very refreshing hopefully, ang ganda ganda nung concept ng series na ito,” she said.
She clarified that this is not a love team. They lean more on the sense of partnership and that people should also look forward to the other stars they will be working with in this series.
“It’s not a love team, it’s more partnership siya talaga,” she expressed, and also shared, “It’s not just love story, it’s about friendship, family and it’s about women.”
