Karen Davila allegedly received an interview offer from Sarah Discaya
A source claimed that ABS-CBN journalist Karen Davila refused to do an interview with businesswoman Sarah Discaya.
Discaya was the opponent of Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto in the 2025 midterm elections. On August 21, the young politician shared an intriguing post on his Facebook page. He featured a screengrab of journalists Korina Sanchez and Julius Babao’s interview with Discaya.
Mayor Vico alleged that these were “paid interviews” and could have costs millions. Sanchez and Babao both defended their sides. The journalists pointed out that what they did was a “featured” interview and not investigative reporting.

They both denied that millions of pesos were involved in this interview. Korina’s camp even stressed that this could lead to a legal battle against the Mayor because of his fiery statements.
Many netizens slammed Korina Sanchez and Julius Babao, but they were defended by their fellow journalist, Arnold Clavio, who criticized Mayor Vico Sotto for sharing a post that appeared to be more of an accusation. For Clavio, it was inappropriate for the Mayor to do that because people have started questioning the credibility of journalists.

Amid the issue against two of the most popular journalists in the Philippines, a source through X (formerly Twitter) Page Assortedge said that a source claimed that Karen Davila also received the same offer from Sarah Discaya.
It was said that Discaya tried to pay Davila in exchange for a vlog feature on her YouTube channel. The source claimed that the Headstart host refused to accept the proposal, saying that it was unethical to receive money from someone who had the intention to be a political candidate.
As of this writing, Karen Davila has not spoken yet regarding the source’s supposed claim regarding the alleged interview offer from Sarah Discaya.
