Ashley Ortega talked about her new acting project
Kapuso actress Ashley Ortega shared the preparation that she did for her character, who has a personality disorder, in the new series Apoy sa Dugo.
In this series, Ashley portrayed the character of Angel, and this was a challenging one for her. In order to make sure that she will give justice to the role, the actress made some important preparations.
It’s almost a year since her last full TV series project. She was part of the first Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition and did a guest appearance in Hating Kapatid.

During a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Ashley Ortega shared that their filming for this project started in September last year. She admitted that she had to familiarize herself once again because her last teleserye was Pulang Araw in 2024.
Ashley shared that she felt nervous initially because her role was intense. “So, kailangan nag-workshop naman ako, nag-request ako ng workshop before on set para kahit papaano mabalik yung mga acting skills ko kasi ang tagal ng nabakante,” she revealed.
The actress also shared that her role in this series is the villain, and this is one of her dream roles. She had some physical preparations for this.

“Usually, preparation lang kailangan lang mag-diet sa mga ganitong show, pero dito kasi yung whole vibe, yung look, even yung color ng hair ko, first time kung mag-pa-black talaga,” she shared.
Her hair color in this project has sa big impact on her character, who has a personality disorder. She wanted the audience to easily understand that her character is unstable through her physical features. This will also serve as a way to set her new character apart from her previous kontrabida roles.
Ashley Ortega and their writer also talked to a psychiatrist to establish the behavior of her character. The actress also shared that she watched psychological movies and thrillers as part of her research on the character.
