Newly signed and renewed, ABS-CBN star Belle Mariano has this to say about working on a project without her love team, Donny Pangilinan.
DonBelle, the collective love team name of ABS-CBN stars Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, is currently among the most famous love teams in the country. They first captured attention with the teen rom-com He’s Into Her in 2021.
Their success as a love team was also seamless across mediums. Their series Can’t Buy Me Love dominated Netflix Philippines and racked up massive viewership numbers.
In a previous article, the “New Gen Phenomenal Actress” signed her first-ever network contract with ABS-CBN after 14 years. She felt blessed and grateful and is looking forward to doing more roles. After the contract signing, she revealed that aside from a new film, she is preparing to release a new album and is gearing up for a birthday concert.
In the same event, she opened up about her upcoming film, where she will be playing the role of the youngest child. It also somehow gives her a different feeling, as it would be a project without Pangilinan, and her role was far from her real-life role, which is the eldest amongst her siblings.
“I feel like this one since it’s far different from the previous ones I’ve done. Yun nga, it’s my first project outside of a love team, siyempre may takot at first kasi nga I’m so used to working with Donny,” she shared, confessing that she felt scared about doing this project with Donny, whom she loves working with.
On the brighter side, this opportunity allows her to grow as an actress beyond the confines of a love team—something she has always been open to exploring. Meanwhile, despite having individual projects, their fans are assured that they will continue to support each other.
“Both of us have been vocal about it na we’re always there to just support each other and champion each other in terms of our career growth–– whether that’s with each other or apart from each other,” she expressed.
Donny will be doing the upcoming ABS-CBN series, Roja, with Kyle Echarri, Maymay Entrata, Raymond Bagatsing, Joel Torre, Janice De Belen, and Lorna Tolentino.Â
