Netizens Mock Romnick Sarmenta, But He Responds w/ Humor & Sass
ROMNICK SARMENTA – Actor Romnick Sarmenta isn’t letting online critics get under his skin, responding with humor to those who tried to dismiss him as irrelevant.
Romnick Sarmenta has proven that he is not one to stay silent when faced with online criticism. Over the weekend, the veteran actor addressed remarks from netizens labeling him as a “nobody” and encouraging others to ignore him.
In a post on X last Saturday, August 16, Sarmenta pointed out the irony of one critic who repeatedly commented on his posts while at the same time telling others not to pay attention to him. Amused, he quipped that such attention usually comes with a price tag. He also noted that many of these detractors only had a handful of followers, which added to the humor of the situation.

Sarmenta’s name has resurfaced in the online conversation after he reacted to calls for a boycott of a popular fast-food brand endorsed by Vice Ganda. The boycott stemmed from outrage among supporters of former President Rodrigo Duterte, who took offense at a joke Vice made referencing him. Duterte is currently facing detention in The Hague, Netherlands, over a case linked to crimes against humanity.
While critics urged the public to shun the brand, Sarmenta decided to show support for Vice in a simple but pointed way—by ordering food from the fast-food chain despite admitting he was not even hungry. The gesture was seen by many as a sign of solidarity with the comedian amid the backlash.

Beyond this incident, Sarmenta has long been vocal about social and political issues. He has previously criticized government officials who, according to him, exploit laws for personal gain. His willingness to speak up, whether in defense of fellow celebrities or on matters of governance, has earned him both praise and criticism.
Despite the negativity thrown his way, Sarmenta seems unfazed. His recent response to detractors underscores his ability to handle online bashing with humor and resilience, proving that he is far from irrelevant in today’s conversations.
