Recently, Malacañang aired the desire of the President for the youth to take part in standing for what is true and using critical thinking in the access of information posted online. The remarks of the Palace came after a website, the Sumbong sa Pangulo, was launched and Pres. Bongbong Marcos asked the help of the people to report about the flood control projects in their areas.

In his request to the youth which was expressed by Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro during a forum at the Centro Escolar University (CEU) in Manila, the President vowed that he will not give up an inch of the country but he needs the help of the people.

Furthermore, the Palace official said the nationalism should be with the youth until their old age emphasizing that they only have one country. Based on the report, the said remarks was made at the Usap Tayo, Bayan Muna forum which sought to discuss the role of the youth in the country’s development.

“We need to be Filipinos at all times. You have a duty as young people. We owe our heroes (the freedom) we are enjoying now,” Castro said.

The President is halfway to the end of his term now. Last July 28, he delivered his 4th State of the Nation Address or SONA wherein he assured the people that education remains on top of his administration’s priorities. Pres. Bongbong Marcos previously claimed that his desired legacy is for his admin to be remembered for making changes for the better.

However, amid Marcos Jr. vowing to prioritize education, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte recently criticized the PH education and compared it with the education abroad.
