Pres. Bongbong Marcos Reveals Contractors of 20% of Flood Control Projects of Gov’t

BONGBONG MARCOS – The President assured that the administration is looking into the possible links of five (5) contractors of flood control projects to government officials.

During his 4th State of the Nation Address, Pres. Marcos mentioned that the flood control projects in the Philippines failed, thus, resulting to flooding several areas across the nation. The country was recently hit by the wrath of the Southwest Monsoon and typhoons Crising, Dante, and Emong.

Recently, following San Miguel Corporation president and Chief-Executive-Officer (CEO) Ramon Ang offering to help address the flooding problems in Metro Manila, Pres. Bongbong Marcos made surprising revelations about the flood control projects in the Philippines.

Ang offered to help solve the flooding problems in Metro Manila at no cost for the government and the people. He assured relocation sites for those Filipinos whose houses will be removed to solve the problem on the clogging that prevents waterflow to the drains.

The Chief Executive welcomed the offer of the businessman giant. Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos revealed that the Philippine government has already spent more than P500 billion in flood control projects from July 2022 to May 2025.

According to Marcos Jr., the Philippines has a total of 9,855 flood control projects as of May 2025 within the P545 billion spending on the said projects. He also expressed that 6,021 projects were worth more than P350 billion.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos said most of the flood control projects were done in the National Capital Region. There are 1,058 flood control projects worth P52.57 billion. Region III comes next with 1,617 projects worth P98.01 billion followed by Region V with 866 projects worth P49.61 billion.

Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos also revealed that 20% of the flood control projects in the Philippines in the past three (3) years was awarded to 15 contractors and five (5) of them have projects in almost all regions in the country. Based on a report on GMA News, here are the 15 contractors that received 20% of the projects:

  5. EGB Construction Corporation
  6. Topnotch Catalyst Builders Inc.
  7. Centerways Construction and Development Inc.
  8. Sunwest, Inc.
  9. Hi-Tone Construction & Development Corp.
  10. Triple 8 Construction & Supply, Inc.
  11. Royal Crown Monarch Construction & Supplies Corp.
  12. Wawao Builders
  13. MG Samidan Construction
  14. L.R. Tiqui Builders, Inc.
  15. Road Edge Trading & Development Services

Marcos Jr. found it “disturbing”. Based on the report, the President named the five (5) contractors with flood control projects in almost all regions in the Philippines and they are the following:

  • Legacy Construction Corporation
  • Alpha & Omega Gen. Contractor & Development Corp.
  • St. Timothy Construction Corporation
  • EGB Construction Corporation
  • Road Edge Trading & Development Services.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos assured that the administration will probe every contractor to determine possible links with sitting government officials. According to him, they will determine what is really credible and what needs to be acted upon.

Following the offer of Mr. Ramon Ang, Senator Ping Lacson confirmed that he will propose for budget cuts for the DPWH and the MMDA if the proposal of the businessman is authorized and implemented.
