Female Vlogger Denies Spitting in Church Holy Water, Says She Only Made a Wish
The viral female vlogger denied spitting on Holy Water font at church in Misamis Occidental, claiming she only made a wish.
Over the past few days, Thine Medalla, the content creator in viral video elicited various reactions from the internet users for allegedly spitting in Church holy water.
In the video, many believed she had spit into the holy water basin, causing outrage and concern among churchgoers and netizens.

However, Medalla clarified that she did not spit into the water. According to her, she only looked at the basin and made a wish, and she had no intention of disrespecting the church. She said she returned to the church to apologize, but the priest chose not to meet with her at that time.
“Tumingin ako sa holy water, nag-wish ako. Hindi ko talaga dinuraan ‘yon, May respeto po ako sa simbahan,” Medalla said.
Many people were accusing her of mocking a sacred practice. Due to the backlash and possible contamination concerns, church leaders temporarily closed the church for seven days, as directed by Archbishop Martin Jumuad.
Medalla, holding back tears in an interview, explained that she respects the church and would never do something offensive inside a holy place. She expressed regret for the misunderstanding and the trouble it caused, both for the church and the community.
While Medalla claimed that she meant no harm, the incident reminded many of the importance of sensitivity and respect, especially in places of worship. As of this writing, the local church has not made further statements.
