The spokesperson of VP Sara Duterte spoke about her whereabouts.
VP SARA DUTERTE – OVP Spokesperson Ruth Castelo has this response when asked where the vice president is ahead of the Senate debate.
Previously, the Supreme Court declared the articles vs. VP Sara were unconstitutional. This ruling sparked reactions among different groups and organizations, but despite this, the high court declared that the decision should be enforced immediately.

The Supreme Court emphasized that the decision is “immediately executory,” despite the filing of petitions challenging the ruling. The House of Representatives, on August 4, filed a motion for reconsideration.
“The SC has ruled that the House impeachment complaint versus VP Sara Duterte is barred by the one-year rule and that due process or fairness applies in all stages of the impeachment process,” the Supreme Court’s spokesperson, Atty. Camille Ting also previously announced.
Now, ahead of the Senate’s Wednesday debates regarding the SC ruling that blocked her then looming impeachment trial, Office of the Vice President Spokesperson Ruth Castelo was asked about the vice president’s whereabouts. In a response to the reporters, Castelo expressed that she would get back to them once she confirmed that the second-in-command is in the Philippines.
The Senate is set to decide whether to challenge the SC ruling regarding the impeachment trial or not.
“We’ll get back to you on that before we end this conference,” Castelo replied to the inquiries of the reporters. Based on a social post from the OVP, Duterte was in Marinduque from July 29 to 31 with Former Speaker Lourd Allan Velasco.
“Is she just here?” a reporter asked, and her reply was, “Who knows she can just be right in the office, a few steps away. We’ll give you the answer later.”
