Class Suspensions Announced for July 28, 2025 (Monday) Due to Continuous Rains
WALANG PASOK – Several local government units have declared class suspensions in some parts of the country due to continuous rains.
On Monday, July 28, 2025, the southwest monsoon intensified by Tropical Cyclone Emong would bring heavy rains will affect many parts of the country. Several areas across the country have canceled classes due to inclement weather condition.
The nonstop downpour has led local governments to prioritize safety, especially in flood-prone places.

In Metro Manila, some cities have already made early announcements.
- Malabon City has suspended face-to-face classes in public schools from kindergarten to senior high school, including the Alternative Learning System.
- Quezon City has called off classes at all levels in both public and private schools. This is not only due to the bad weather but also in preparation for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s upcoming State of the Nation Address at the Batasang Pambansa.
Ilocos Region
- La Union: No face-to-face classes in all levels; college students will shift to asynchronous or self-paced learning.
- Pangasinan:
- Lingayen, Calasiao, Aguilar, and Mangaldan: Classes suspended in all levels, public and private.
- Bani: Face-to-face classes suspended from July 28 to August 1.
- Anda: Classes suspended from July 28 to July 30.
- Local government offices in Mangaldan and Lingayen will also be closed.
In Central Luzon:
- Pampanga:
- Apalit and Masantol: All levels suspended in both public and private schools.
In Calabarzon:
- Kawit, Cavite: Classes suspended in all levels, public and private.
Residents are advised to keep monitoring updates from local authorities. Parents and students are also reminded to prepare for alternative learning setups where possible.
