Man Accused of Slapping Woman in Bacolod Speaks Up & Shares His Side of Story

The man accused of slapping a woman during an argument in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental has finally been identified and has shared his side of the story.

Previously, a video went viral showing a woman crying after she was allegedly slapped by a man on Ylac Street, Barangay Villamonte. The video quickly circulated online and elicited comments from the netizens.

The woman, identified only as “Ann,” was seen filming the man while confronting him. She claimed he slapped her several times for no clear reason while she was simply having coffee with a friend.

Another woman in the video tried to calm the situation, but the man reportedly continued his angry outburst. Ann said she was deeply shaken and asked for help to seek justice for what happened.

On Friday (July 25, 2025), in an interview, the man involved denied physically hurting Ann. He explained that he did not slap her, and what people heard in the video was a plastic folder falling during the commotion.

According to him, he parked near a small vendor to get some coffee. As he stepped out of his car, he claimed Ann was already giving him a rude attitude. He said she called him arrogant, which led him to ask what he supposedly did to deserve it. The incident sparked the heated argument between them.

While the man apologized for the incident, he insisted that he only knocked away the woman’s folder, not her. However, Ann stood by her statement and said it wasn’t just the folder, she clearly felt the man’s hand hit her, and even feared he was about to strike her with a bottle.
