WWE paid a tribute, and in a post, they expressed their sadness over the passing of the Hall of Famer and extended their condolences to his family, friends, and fans.
To recall, the wrestling career of Hogan, born Terry Gene Bollea in Augusta, Georgia, in real life, started in 1984 when he defeated Iron Sheik. This was his first WWF title and ignited the “Hulkmania.” This was a craze that never went away.
He was known for his red and yellow outfits, “Real American” entrance music, signature bandana, and handlebar mustache. In 1996, Hulk transformed himself from hero to villain. He introduced the NWO or New World Order. This move propelled him to even more fame.
Some of his iconic performances included a matchup against Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at WrestleMania X8 in 2002, a face-off with Andre the Giant at WM 3, and feuds with Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage.
He joined the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005, but was removed in 2015 due to his racist comments. He was inducted a second time in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020.
