Lovely Couple in Bulacan Pushes Through w/ Wedding Despite Flooded Church

A lovely couple went viral online to push through with their wedding despite the flooded church in Bulacan.

On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, the longtime couple Jao Verdillo and Jam Aguilar went ahead with their wedding ceremony at the historic Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish – Barasoain Church in Malolos, Bulacan.

The couple, who have been together for ten years, had been looking forward to this special day for a long time. They shared that they had booked the church two years in advance, knowing how difficult it is to reserve the venue.

As accountants, they had already filed leaves from work and made all the necessary preparations. So even when floodwaters entered the church, canceling the wedding was never an option.

“All set naman na din, and they had their families with them. Kahit ang mga ninong at ninang ay nagdatingan din,” church’s wedding secretary Jan Robin Rodriguez said.

The photos from the event show the inside of the church filled with knee-deep floodwater, but neither the couple nor their guests allowed it to ruin the moment. Wearing elegant gowns and suits, they bravely waded through the water with smiles on their faces.

Some guests even removed their shoes and lifted their outfits just to keep the ceremony going. The wet floor and flooded aisles became part of the love story. Instead of being discouraged, everyone laughed it off and showed full support for the couple.

The scene proves how love can push through any kind of storm.

“I’m just happy for them, and it brings us joy dahil they really wanted to have a church wedding. Kaya kahit mahirap pumasok, pinilit ko para ma-assist sila,” he added.
