Lani Misalucha shared her thoughts about acting
Asia’s Nightingale Lani Misalucha revealed in a recent interview the reason why she did not venture into acting.
Lani is one of the most respected singers in the Philippine music industry. With her unique voice and range, she is admired in every performance. However, Lani is not the same as many singers in the Philippines.
Many Filipino singers eventually pursued acting, like Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez, Popstar Royalty Regine Velasquez, Concert Queen Pops Fernandez, and many more.
Although they started in the entertainment industry as singer, they also had successful careers as actresses. However, Lani was one of the few Pinoy singers who remained focused on their music careers.
Based on the article in Manila Bulletin, Lani Misalucha was asked why she did not venture into acting. “Simple lang sagot: walang gusto kumuha sa akin,” jokingly said.
Lani did not actively pursue the idea because she was busy with her singing career. She had shows left and right, as well as regular shows.
“Meron pa akong ‘SOP’ nun. So dun palang ay busy na ako. Kaya sabi ko that time, ayoko talaga mag artista,” the singer shared.
On the other hand, Lani said that she is not closing her doors to TV and film project offers. The singer even said that she wants to do “kontrabida” roles. She quipped that she could not pass the “pa-tweetums” roles.
When asked about the onscreen partners, Lani wants to work with her fellow The Clash judge, Comedy Concert Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas. It is because she already knows that seasoned comedienne.
In the same interview, Lani said that she is now semi-retired. She has been in the entertainment industry for almost 40 years now. “I’m taking things slow na especially right now kasi hindi ko naman na kayang gawin yung mga bagay na ginagawa ko nung 20 yrs old ako,” the OPM icon said.
She said that she spends more time with her grandkids, and this gives her so much happiness. However, she is also open to doing concerts once in a while.
