Alyas Totoy tagged Chinese-Filipino businessman Atong Ang and former actress Gretchen Barretto in the missing sabungeros case. The whistleblower also claimed that the former actress is allegedly part of the so-called “Alpha Team” and she supposedly agreed on dealing with the cheating cockfighting enthusiasts in a meeting.

Both Ang and Barretto denied the claims against them. The Chinese-Filipino businessman said he will file complaints against his accuser.

Atong Ang also accused his accuser of allegedly extorting money from him. According to him, he is now in a very pitiful situation with what is being done by his accuser. He claimed that the whistleblower allegedly lacks the credibility to support his claims.

Atong Ang

DOJ chief Boying Remulla previously confirmed that Atong Ang and Gretchen Barretto are now considered suspects in the missing sabungeros case after they were tagged by the whistleblower. Recently, he claimed that suspected human ribs were found in Taal Lake.

Based on a report on Inquirer, the suspected human ribs were found at the spot pointed out by the witnesses who, according to the whistleblower, were allegedly the ones tasked to dispose the bodies of the cockfighting enthusiasts. He stressed that the witnesses are “very reliable”.

“When the guide was asked where to go, they pointed out the direction to search. And true enough, when they dived there, they hit the spot. So, the witnesses we spoke with are actually very reliable,” DOJ Secretary Remulla said.

In a press briefing, DOJ chief Boying Remulla claimed that alias Totoy also identified the said spot where remains believed to be human remains were recovered. Based on the report, the remains found have yet to undergo a forensic analysis.

Previously, a whistleblower claimed that Atong Ang allegedly paid up to P2 million monthly for the killings of the sabungeros.
