ROBIN PADILLA – Senator Robin Padilla received a strong show of solidarity after members of the Protect Senator Robin Padilla Movement came together in support of the embattled lawmaker.
Members of the “Protect Senator Robin Padilla Movement,” composed mostly of Muslims, recently gathered to express their support for Senator Robin Padilla amid the issues currently surrounding him.
In a Facebook post shared on Monday, July 6, Senator Robin posted a photo with members of the group and thanked them for their unwavering support. The gathering served as a public display of solidarity as the senator continues to face legal and political challenges.
“Assalamu alaiku. Maraming salamat mga kapatid,” said Sen. Robin in his message accompanying the photo.
The supporters emphasized their continued trust in the senator despite the controversies that have recently placed him under public scrutiny. Their assembly reflected their commitment to stand by Padilla as developments in the case continue to unfold.
Senator Robin is among the lawmakers who are reportedly facing the possibility of legal charges. His name surfaced after the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) identified him as a person of interest in connection with the alleged escape of Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.
According to CCTV footage released by the police on May 20, Padilla and Dela Rosa were seen together walking to the Senate parking area. The footage allegedly showed the two senators boarding a white Toyota Fortuner bearing the license plate “DAV 1225,” which authorities claimed is registered under Padilla’s name.
The CCTV footage quickly became a topic of discussion, prompting questions regarding the senator’s alleged involvement in the incident. As investigations continue, authorities are examining the available evidence to determine the extent of the participation of those involved.
However, Padilla has firmly denied the allegations against him. In a statement released on Friday, May 22, the senator rejected the accusations linking him to the alleged escape of Dela Rosa.
His denial came shortly after the CCTV footage was made public, maintaining that the claims being leveled against him are unfounded. While the investigation remains ongoing, no final legal determination has been announced regarding the case.
