Fine Arts Graduate Went Viral After Creating Children’s Book for Thesis
A fine arts graduate from Lipa City, Batangas went viral online after he created a charming children’s book as part of his thesis.
A children’s book is a special kind of book made just for young readers, usually from babies to kids around 12 years old. These books are written in a way that’s easy to understand and are often filled with colorful pictures to help tell the story.
These books can be fun, silly, magical, or even teach important lessons about kindness, sharing, and understanding emotions.

Recently, Iamjerryroxas, a TikTok user, shared his charming children’s book as part of his thesis. The post quickly went viral on social media and quickly garnered various reactions from the online community.
John Jerry Roxas, the young artist behind the book, drew inspiration from his own childhood and his mother’s unique parenting style. His story centers around a strict yet loving mother raising her child.
The child begins to understand that the mother’s actions were actually expressions of deep love and care.

Aside from writing and illustrating the book, he also handcrafted dolls to represent the characters. He sewed clothes for them and built miniature diorama sets to make the story feel more alive.
Toxas shared how enjoyable the process was, as it allowed him to mix play and creativity. He used warm, kid-friendly colors and designed an ancestral house-style setting that perfectly matched the story’s theme.

“Masaya po ang naging proseso dahil nagawa ko po maglaro gamit ang mga manika na ginawa ko, at magdisenyo ng miniature ancestral sets na tiyak na babagay sa mga tauhan ng kakaibang kwentong pambata,” Roxas said.
Roxas’s work didn’t just fulfill an academic requirement but earned appreciation for Filipino creativity and love for family.
