Former Love Scam Agent Finds Love and Struggles in a POGO Relationship

A Filipina woman who used to work in a POGO company shared how her life changed after falling in love with a fellow foreign worker involved in the same industry.
Known as “Angel” (not her real name), she was once a part of a group operating love scams under the Lucky South 99 Corporation in Porac, Pampanga. Her job was to make online targets fall in love with her as part of a scheme.
Angel met “Chen,” a Chinese co-worker, in 2022. They were working in the same compound, and over time, she was drawn to his quiet but caring ways. After five months of knowing each other, Angel became pregnant.
Chen, despite being a stay-in worker, stayed involved and supportive. He even asked her to stop working once she found out about the pregnancy.
However, Chen never got the chance to see their baby born. Authorities raided his workplace, and he was arrested. Their son, Kurt, was only three months old at the time. Since then, Chen has been detained in the PAOCC facility in Pasay City, with no progress on his case.
Angel and Kurt have visited him, holding on to the hope of being reunited.
In contrast, another Filipina named “Pam” experienced a much more painful story. Her Chinese partner, also a former POGO worker in Cebu, was deported in December 2024. Before he left, Pam said goodbye while holding back tears, explaining he didn’t want their children to see him handcuffed.
Pam shared her trauma, recalling a night of physical abuse while she was eight months pregnant. She was rushed to the hospital by a friend after experiencing bleeding and pain. Since then, she has received any financial help from him.

Despite everything, Pam now helps other mothers like her women left behind with children after their partners were arrested or deported. She encourages them to stay strong, find ways to survive, and not depend solely on waiting for someone who may never return.
Even after all the hurt, Pam still wishes well for her ex-partner, hoping he takes care of himself and finds the strength to overcome his struggles.
