7 Students Allegedly Possessed at a School in Sarangani

Seven students at a high school in Sarangani Province were believed to have been possessed by evil spirits while inside their classroom.

Evil spirit possession is the belief that a person’s body or mind is being controlled by a harmful spirit or demon. Many cultures and religions around the world believe in this, and people say that when someone is possessed, they act very differently than usual.

Some signs people often talk about include speaking in a strange voice or language, becoming suddenly very strong, acting violently or out of control, or saying they can see or hear things that others cannot. Sometimes, they might also lose awareness or faint.

On Thursday (July 10, 2025), teachers and students at Tanao Bantilan National High School in Glan were shocked as some of the affected students began crying loudly, screaming, and struggling to move freely.

Witnesses also said they heard strange, deep voices coming from some of the students. One student even fainted during the commotion.

Because of the panic and chaos, the school decided to send the students home early for everyone’s safety.

One of the affected students shared that her sibling noticed something odd about her when she returned home. She reportedly laughed loudly and acted strangely, which added to the family’s concerns.

Another student said that while she was inside the school clinic, she saw a disturbing vision of three men covered in blood. She claimed they surrounded her and seemed to be pushing her, which left her feeling scared and confused.

Despite these accounts, a local pastor who witnessed the incident believes the students were not possessed. According to him, the behavior could be explained as a panic attack possibly triggered by stress, fear, or suggestions.
