For Rep. Edgar Erice, Mar Roxas can do this for the country
Former Senator Mar Roxas is said to be the one who can “reset” the Philippines to a more developed country, Caloocan City Rep. Edgar Erice said.
Roxas is one of the most prominent Filipino political figures. Over the years, he has held several positions.
He served as the Trade and Industry Secretary (2000–2003) under Presidents Joseph Estrada and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Then, he became the Transportation and Communications Secretary (2011–2012).

In 2012–2015, Roxas was appointed by President Benigno Aquino III as the Interior and Local Government Secretary, but he resigned in 2015 to run for president as the standard-bearer of the Liberal Party for the 2016 elections. However, former President Rodrigo Duterte won.
He returned to the political scene in 2019 and ran for the Senate, but he was not elected.
In a recent interview on “The Spokes” program on Bilyonaryo News Channel, based on the article in Abante News, Rep. Edgar Erice urged the public to change the criteria for choosing the country’s leaders.
“Ang ikampanya natin sa mga Pilipino, mag-isip kayo, magbago kayo. Gusto niyong magbago ‘yung gobyerno, magbago kayo ng batayan sa pagpili. Hindi ‘yung popularity; ‘yung competence, ‘yung integrity, ‘yung qualifications,” the congressman said.

He also mentioned that during the time of former President Benigno Aquino III from 2010 to 2016, the Philippines was an “economic tiger” and the economy was doing well.
The lawmaker also stressed that after 2016, Mar Roxas would have continued this, adding that he knows the former Senator as someone who is good and sensible.
When rep. Erice was asked if he wanted Roxas to be the next president, the congressman said, “Yes. Gusto ko parang reset. Maunlad na maunlad ang Pilipinas nun. Dapat reset. Sino bang makakapag-reset niyan? Si Mar Roxas!”
