With the 2022 Presidential Elections victory of now Pres. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., there are now three (3) political clans with at least two (2) members winning the presidential polls — the Marcoses, the Aquinos, and the Arroyos.

The Marcos patriarch, the late former dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr., was the Philippines’ president for more than 20 years. However, his reign was filled with controversies and was ended by his ouster with the EDSA People Power Revolution.
The Marcoses were not allowed to return to the country for several decades. It was only after the former President’s death in 1989 when his remaining family members were allowed to return to the country.

In 2022, Bongbong Marcos, a former senator, ran for president and won. His running mate was now Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos revealed that his desired legacy is he wants the people to remember that his administration made changes for the better.

Today, the mother of the President, former First Lady Liza Marcos, celebrates her 96th birthday. On social media, Pres. Bongbong Marcos posted a heartfelt message for his mother along with a photo of them together as well as with the other Marcoses.
The President wanted his mother to know that her strength, unwavering love, and grace have continues to guide and inspire them every day. He also expressed their gratitude for her. Here’s his post:
Aside from Pres. Bongbong Marcos, his wife, First Lady Liza Marcos, also took to social media her heart-melting birthday message for former First Lady Imelda Marcos. Greeting her mother-in-law “Mama Meldy” a happy birthday, the First Lady said her strength and elegance have touched many lives most especially theirs.
The First Lady expressed her gratitude to her mother-in-law for the love and the quiet courage that she continues to share with all of them. She wished her endless joy and good health.
Currently, the real ties between two (2) Marcoses is unclear to the public amid the political turmoil in the Philippine government. Sen. Imee Marcos previously claimed that she and Pres. Bongbong Marcos never had a fight but she was not in the photo posted by the Chief Executive and he was not mentioned during her proclamation speech.
