PAGASA Says ITCZ and Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that ITCZ and easterlies will bring rains over parts of the country.  

On Friday (June 20, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The ITCZ and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.  

PAGASA Weather Specialist Benison Estareja reported thatthe  Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Mindanao, while the easterlies will be affecting the rest of the country.

In Luzon, the highest chance of rain this morning is in Aurora and Quezon provinces due to the easterlies, while nearby areas such as Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, and even Camarines Norte are also affected,” Estareja said.  

The ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Caraga, Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Palawan.  

The easterlies will bring similar weather over Aurora and Quezon.

The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.  

No typhoons or low-pressure areas are being monitored inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.  

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.  

No gale warning was raised over any parts of the country.
