Dennis Trillo was supposed to play a supporting role in ‘Green Bones’
Kapuso drama king Dennis Trillo revealed that the role of Domingo Zamora in the MMFF 2024 movie Green Bones was first offered to a different actor.
This movie became the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 Best Picture. Dennis got the best actor trophy while his co-star Ruru Madrid won Best Supporting Actor.
It was also hailed as the Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography. Young actress Sienna Stevens also won the Best Child Performer award.
The film received good reviews from movie critics and moviegoers. Just recently, it was announced that Green Bones will be available on Netflix, and fans have been gushing over this as more people can watch not just in the Philippines but also abroad.
In a Facebook post just recently, Dennis Trillo shared a bit of information about the movie that gave him his second MMFF Best Actor trophy.
The Kapuso actor revealed that he was not the first choice to be the actor who would give life to the character of Domingo Zamora. He shared that when the project was offered to him, he was told to play the character of Xavier Gonzaga, a supporting role.
“Papasok ng 2024, noong unang inalok sa akin ang pelikulang GREEN BONES. Ako daw ay gaganap bilang Xavier Gonzaga, isang Security officer na magkakaroon ng isang “mortal na kaaway” na PDL sa loob ng isang correctional facility,” he shared.
Dennis immediately said yes to this project because he liked the material right away. One more reason for this was that the lead was first offered to the actor with whom he aspired to work. “Makaka trabaho ko ang isang artistang, noon ko pa pinangarap na makasama sa isang proyekto, siya ay gaganap bilang si Domingo Zamora,” the Kapuso actor enthused.
However, after a few conversations, this did not work out, and it saddened him. The production team had a hard time finding a replacement until eventually, it was offered to him, and his reaction was, “Kaya ko ba ito?”
And the rest, as they say, is history. In the comment section of his post, many netizens stressed that he gave justice to the character of Domingo Zamora. Then, a netizen believed that the role was first offered to A-list actor John Lloyd Cruz.
