A 70-year-old grandpa from Leyte is now inspiring many netizens after deciding to go back to school as a Grade 7 student.

Recently, John Renz Montiman, a Facebook user, shared photos of an elderly man who goes back to school at the age of 70. The post quickly circulated online and garnered various reactions from the netizens. 

In the photos, the grandpa is seen proudly wearing his school uniform and carrying his bag like any other student. Many were touched by his dedication and admired his courage to pursue education despite his age. 

The man was identified as Tatay Jose P. Rallos, a resident of Barangay Union in Mahaplag, Leyte. He is now enrolled at Mahaplag National High School, where he attends classes with younger students.

According to Teacher John who posted his photos, it was only the second day of class, but Tatay Jose already showed strong interest and willingness to learn. 

“Second day of school for Tatay Jose, our 70-years young Grade 7 student! Proof that learning has no age limit. It’s never too late to learn,” Montiman wrote.
