Lea Salonga is also the only singer who voiced two Disney princesses, Mulan and Jasmine. She continues to achieve new milestones in her career.

Just recently, she was given the chance to sing Star Spangled Banner, the United States of America’s National Anthem, at the Yankees game.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, New York Yankees thanked Lea for her singing this patriotic song. “Thank you to Tony-Award Winning Actress Lea Salonga for tonight’s beautiful rendition of our National Anthem,” the post stated.

The singer-actress also shared a post about this on her Instagram Story. She thanked the NYY for having her.

This was shared on a popular showbiz site and netizens expressed mixed reactions. Some netizens expressed that there is nothing to be proud of because Lea was singing the national anthem of the US and not the Philippines. “Infairness wala akong nakikitang dapat ikaproud dito na kinakanta nila ang National Anthem ng America or ng ibang bansa,” netizen commented.

However, some netizens pointed out that Lea’s talent was the mere reason that Pinoys should be proud of her and they said that some people tend to exhibit crab mentality. Here are some comments.
