Oil Price Hike to Take Effect on Third Week of June

Gas Stations to Impose Oil Price Hike on Tuesday (June 17, 2025)

FUEL PRICE INCREASE – Several gasoline stations are set to implement an oil price hike on third week of June.

Starting Tuesday, June 17, 2025, oil companies have announced another round of price hikes. Filipino motorists are advised to brace for another round of increases.

Here is the projected oil price hike:

Shell Pilipinas and Seaoil (starting 6:00 a.m.)

  • Gasoline: +P1.80 per liter
  • Diesel: +P1.80 per liter
  • Kerosene: +P1.50 per liter

Cleanfuel (starting 4:01 p.m.):

  • Gasoline: +P1.80 per liter
  • Diesel: +P1.80 per liter

Cleanfuel does not carry kerosene, so no change applies to that product.

The price adjustments come after last week’s increases, which were P0.60 for gasoline, P0.95 for diesel, and P0.30 for kerosene. It also marks the fifth consecutive week of gasoline price hikes, the third for diesel, and the second for kerosene.

According to the Department of Energy, the latest spike is linked to global factors such as stronger oil demand forecasts, unresolved nuclear talks between the U.S. and Iran, and growing tensions in the Middle East, especially the ongoing conflict involving Israel and Iran, which has caused crude oil prices to rise by about 5%.

The knock-on impact of higher energy prices is that they will slow growth and cause headline inflation to rise,” said Tony Sycamore.

Benchmark oil prices remain elevated. Dubai crude closed at $67.41 per barrel, while Brent crude rose to $74.96.

With fuel costs rising again, transport expenses and other goods may also follow suit, adding to the financial strain on consumers across the country.

“This would hamper central banks’ ability to cut interest rates to cushion the anticipated growth slowdown from President Trump’s tariffs, which adds another variable for the Fed to consider when it meets to discuss interest rates this week,” he added.
