Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Claims Telling Sen. Imee Marcos To Bring FPRRD Home to PH
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President and Senator Imee Marcos join the Philippine Independence Day celebration in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Vice Pres. Duterte previously said that former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is thankful to Sen. Imee Marcos and even wants to talk to her. The Senator opened a Senate investigation on his controversial arrest and even asked the Ombudsman to investigate five (5) officials of the Marcos administration.

Sen. Marcos previously claimed that she cannot accept what was done to former Pres. Duterte. He was arrested by the Philippine authorities last March 11 and was sent to The Hague, Netherlands via Dubai on the same day for the transfer of his custody to the International Criminal Court.
Duterte is faced with an accusation of crimes against humanity over the drug war of his administration. Following the arrest of the former President, Sen. Marcos left the Alyansa senatorial slate endorsed by Marcos Jr.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte endorsed Sen. Imee Marcos’ senatorial bid in the 2025 Elections. She was also adopted by the PDP-Laban, the political party of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, as its guest candidate.

Sen. Imee Marcos won in the 2025 Senatorial Elections. In her speech, Sen. Imee Marcos made no mention of Pres. Bongbong Marcos but recognized former Pres. Duterte and VP Sara. She was accompanied by her mother, former First Lady Imelda Marcos and her sons and in-laws.
Recently, Sen. Imee Marcos joined Vice Pres. Sara Duterte in the PH Independence Day celebration of the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Based on a post of ABS-CBN News, speaking at the event, the Vice President said she would not be the one to bring former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte home to the country.
“Inimbita ko si Sen. Imee Marcos kung saan man ko pumupunta dinala-dala ko siya kasi sinasabi ko sa kanya, ‘Hindi ako ang magbabalik kay dating Pangulong Duterte sa Pilipinas. Dahil ang kapatid mo ang nagpadala sa kanya sa Hague, ikaw ang magbabalik sa kanya sa Pilipinas,” Duterte said.

According to Vice Pres. Duterte, she has also spoken to some OFWs and they say that it is “unthinkable for a government to surrender its citizen to a foreign power”. The Vice President claimed she would be shamed of the government even if she is not the daughter of the former President.
Sen. Imee Marcos also went The Hague where she met Nicholas Kaufman, the lawyer of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. She told him that they will bring the former Philippine President home.
