Sen. Imee Marcos Reveals Why She and Sen. Robin Padilla Didn’t Wear Robes during Impeachment Process
IMEE MARCOS – The Presidential sister and Senator spoke why she and Sen. Robin Padilla did not wear their impeachment robes.
The Senate impeachment court recently convened in one of the last days before the 19th Congress ends. Last Monday, the Senate Minority made a move that paved a way for Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero to take his oath as the presiding officer of the impeachment court in the trial of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.

The Senate also adopted the motion for the rest of the senators to take their oath as senator-judges of the impeachment court. It was held last Tuesday.
All the other senators wore their robes for the impeachment trial of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte as they took their oath except for three (3) senators — known Duterte allies Senators Robin Padilla, Imee Marcos, and Cynthia Villar.

Recently, Sen. Imee Marcos spoke about not wearing her impeachment robe when she took her oath as a senator-judge in the impeachment trial of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. The Presidential Sister made the statement during a Philippine Independence Day event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Sen. Imee Marcos and Sen. Robin Padilla joined Vice Pres. Sara Duterte in the PH Independence Day celebration with the Filipino community in Malaysia. Based on a report on GMA News, the Presidential Sister claimed that she and Sen. Padilla did not like the impeachment robes so they did not wear it. She also claimed that the color is not her type.
“Alam po ninyo, dalawang gabi, isang gabi, hilo na kami. Tumayo kami bilang hukom at nagsuot ng damit bilang hukom. Nakita siguro ng iba sa inyo. Pero kami, mga pasaway ni Robin, hindi kami nagsuot. Ayaw namin nun, pangit. It’s not my color,” Marcos said.
Based on the report, at the event, Sen. Imee Marcos called on the Filipinos to join her in rallying behind Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. She urged the people to stand for the country and for the Constitution.
“Samahan ninyo ako na tayong lahat, sa likod ni VP Inday Sara Duterte, ay maninindigan para sa bayan, para sa konstitusyon, para sa ating bansa dahil tayo ay malayang mamayang Pilipino, ang mga tunay na hukom ng bayan,” the Senator said.
At the said event, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed she is standing still because she is allegedly fighting for what is right. Sen. Robin Padilla greeted Vice Pres. Duterte calling her as the “next president of the Philippines.
During the Senate impeachment court process last Tuesday, the senator-judges voted on the motion to return the articles of impeachment against Duterte to the House of Representatives. With an 18-5 voting, the upper chamber decided to remand Duterte’s impeachment but Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero clarified it is not a dismissal of the case.
Abnormal reasoning… only from unwell corrupted minds. What a shame…
