Amid swirling online speculation, Viva Artists Agency has dismissed the rumors involving artists Xian Lim and Louise delos Reyes.
In 2019, actors Xian Lim and Louise delos Reyes starred together in the film Hanggang Kailan. It has been many years since this happened, and recently, rumors about them having a child together emerged online. Why now? Why many years after? There was even a photo of the actress carrying a child that came with the rumors to make the fake news more believable.
However, before it could even reach a bigger audience online, Reyes and Lim’s talent management company, Viva Artists Agency, slammed the reports and set the record straight.
“There are rumors circulating online which suggest that two of our artists, Louise Delos Reyes and Xian Lim, have a child together. These rumors are completely false and are in fact, libelous,” Viva Artists Agency said in a statement released on its Instagram page on Tuesday, June 10.
To them, it was an attempt to gain more attention by creating clickbait, which some have included a minor. The act was an invasion of privacy, and they firmly maintained that it was “inappropriate, irresponsible, exploitative, and in poor taste.”
Viva then reminded the people to be discerning of the information they consume online. They also asked the public to refrain from spreading and engaging in false content. In the statement, respect was underscored, especially when it comes to the private lives of public figures and other innocent individuals who may be dragged into unfounded speculations and controversies.
Meanwhile, Lim and Reyes have not commented on the issue yet.
Lim has been in a relationship with Viva producer Iris Lee, while Delos Reyes is currently engaged to her non-showbiz boyfriend Jino.
