Julia Montes Speaks Out on Zia Grace Rumors: ‘Hindi po siya namin anak’
JULIA MONTES – Putting an end to the rumors, Julia Montes clarified that Zia Grace is not her and Coco Martin’s daughter.
Julia Montes has spoken out to dispel ongoing speculation that she and her long-time boyfriend, Coco Martin, secretly have a child together — specifically, child actress Zia Grace from the drama series Saving Grace.
In a candid interview with journalist Karen Davila, Montes addressed the issue directly, saying she is aware of the circulating rumors and firmly denied them.
“Zia, when you look at her, she has the same features as Coco. So even we, when we talk, agree that Zia could be mistaken for our child because of the resemblance. But no, she is not our daughter. Zia has parents of her own,” she clarified in Tagalog.
Montes pointed out that such speculation unfairly drags innocent people into the limelight. “It’s pitiful for her parents. It’s overwhelming. But Zia is happy because we often joke about taking her home with me. Then she will say, ‘Yes, I will come.’ So we really do have a special relationship,” she added.
The actress also expressed her openness to starting a family with Martin in the future, saying, “Yes, of course. That’s the happiness in life, family life.”
Speculation intensified last year when host Willie Revillame seemingly slipped on air, thanking “Coco, Julia, and your children” during his show Wil to Win. His comment caused a stir among fans and fueled further talk about the couple’s personal life. Neither Montes nor Martin has addressed that particular remark.
Adding to the intrigue, Coco Martin had previously referred to Montes as “Nanay” during the premiere of her MMFF film Topakk in late 2023, another moment that got fans talking.
Despite being in the public eye, Montes and Martin have chosen to keep their relationship mostly private. However, Martin officially confirmed in May 2023 that he and Montes have been together for 12 years, finally putting to rest long-standing rumors surrounding their romance.
For now, both stars continue to maintain their silence on most personal matters, focusing instead on their careers and respecting each other’s privacy.
