3 Proud LGBT Members Bravely Join Free Circumcision in Lapu-Lapu City
Three proud LGBT members have bravely joined the free circumcision program in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
On Friday, May 30, 2025, three courageous members of the LGBT community joined the “Libreng Tuli” (Free Circumcision) activity held at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City.
The program attracts many residents, including over a hundred young boys. Three special participants identified as Layla (22), Lesley (26), and Hanabi (35), all residents of Sitio Sudtunggan, Basak stood out.
These three proudly stepped forward to undergo circumcision, breaking barriers and proving that it’s not something to be afraid of. To recognize their bravery and strong will, each received a reward of P10,000.
It was not just a thank-you gift but also an encouragement for others who may still feel unsure or scared.
Doctors at the program explained that circumcision has several health benefits. It helps prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs), sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and even penile cancer. The campaign slogan, “Walay apo ni Lapulapu nga pisot,” added fun to the program.
Layla, Lesley, and Hanabi have shown that courage comes in many forms, and they also helped spread awareness and broke the stigma often attached to circumcision among adults, especially in the LGBT community.

Dugang nga tulo ka mga membro sa LGBT ang miapil sa atong Libreng Tuli karong adlawa sa Hoopsdome isip pagsanong sa atong panawagan nga “walay apo ni Lapulapu nga pisot!”.
