Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes shared the reaction of his wife Primetime Queen Marian Rivera to his new movie with seasoned actress Charo Santos.
Dingdong and Charo surprised movie fans with their team-up in the movie Only We Know. The movie teaser introduced an intriguing connection between a man and a woman who is older than him.
The movie is set to be released on June 11 and netizens expressed excitement about this. Some netizens even teased that Dingdong and Charo are the new loveteam partners.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Newsko, Dingdong Dantes shared Marian Rivera’s reaction to his movie with Charo Santos. He said that his wife was one of the first people who watched the final cut of the movie.
It was said that Marian was happy about her husband’s latest project. “Isa siya sa pinakaunang nakapanood ng final cut. Noong ipinanood ko sa kanya [‘yung final cut], sobrang nagustuhan niya ‘yung pelikula,” the actor said.
He also said that the movie resonated with his wife. “Wish nga niya ay sana mas maraming makapanood. [Sana] sa cinema talaga siya [mapanood] para iba ‘yung magiging viewing experience,” Dingdong added.
The actor also shared that Marian personally sent a message to Director Irene Villamor regarding the film. It was said that his wife really said that she loves the movie and as a woman, she can really relate to it. That meant that the portrayal of Betty’s character was really great. This was portrayed by Charo Santos.
Direk Irene revealed that the script was seven years in the making. The project was first presented to Dingdong and Charo during the pandemic and it went through several revisions and scaling down until it was approved for shooting.
“After the pandemic, a lot of things happened in their lives and their schedules. The filming was finished last year… It’s a story about love. I always love love stories, but this shows a different kind of love. It is about breaking boundaries,” the director shared.
