TJ Monterde shared his journey in the music industry
Singer-songwriter TJ Monterde shared in a recent interview the “wildest” things that his fans did to him.
TJ had a humble beginning in the music industry. Just like many aspiring singers, he also started from the bottom. He tried various auditions and tried his luck in small gigs.
With his hard work and determination, he was able to find his big break that skyrocketed his career in the music scene. He was able to have a three-night sold-out concert at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Palagi singer shared in a recent interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda that he has a challenging start in the music scene. TJ Monterde said that he wrote his song Ikaw At Ako around 2010 and 2011. He went to Manila and auditioned for record labels.
By that time, his song was already gaining popularity online. Then, when he sang this song at PolyEast Records, the stars aligned since the company was already looking for the one who sang Ikaw At Ako.
With that, opportunities opened for him. Before becoming who he is now in the music industry, TJ also went through financial challenges since his family is living in Mindanao. He admitted that his father would tell him to just go home if life would really become difficult for him in Manila.
During the interview, King of Talk Boy Abunda mentioned that with TJ Monterde’s charm on stage, he would flash an “I am available” aura to the fans but after saying this, the TV host apologized to the singer’s wife Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan.
When asked about the “wildest” things fans did to him, TJ shared that there were times when fans would steal a kiss and touch his behind.
“Natapunan ka ba ng underwear?” Tito Boy asked the singer. TJ answered, “Hindi naman, pero may iba na magte-tweet o magme-message na ‘puntahan ka namin sa hotel.'”
TJ Monterde said that he is not the type of person who would give in to these kinds of things and he said that if he gave in, all the hard work he has done would be wasted.
