PAGASA Says ITCZ and Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that ITCZ and easterlies will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Wednesday (May 21, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The ITCZ and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone and the easterlies are forecast to bring rain all over the country.

The Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Mindanao.
The easterlies will bring fair weather conditions with chances of scattered rains and thunderstorms in Eastern Samar, Samar, and Southern Leyte in the afternoon.
“In Visayas, expect fair weather conditions, especially in the western and central portion,s but Eastern Visayas will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies and a huge chance of rains in the Eastern Samar, Samar, and Southern Leyte in the afternoon,” Estareja said.

It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
“We have partly cloudy to cloudy skies over Central and Southern Luzon as early as morning while fair weather conditions are expected in the north,” Estareja said.
“Frequent overcast skies are expected in the morning until evening, with scattered rains and thunderstorms, light to moderate with at times heavy rains from early noon until evening,” he added.
A low-pressure area is being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. However, it has a slim chance of developing into a tropical depression.
The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
The coastal water conditions over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
