Sen. Imee Marcos Ranks 12th at 2025 Senatorial Race
IMEE MARCOS – The newly-reelected Senator did not mention President Bongbong Marcos but acknowledged former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte in her proclamation speech.
Countless Filipinos are left in doubts about the real ties between the Marcos siblings. The speculations came after Sen. Marcos left the senatorial slate of the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago endorsed by the President and his administration.

Sen. Imee Marcos quit the senatorial slate of the Alyansa after the controversial arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte and the transfer of his custody to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands.
According to the Senator, the actions of the government on the arrest of former Pres. Duterte do not match his ideas and principles in life. She claimed that she would campaign with her friends who are candidates in the local elections.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte endorsed Sen. Imee Marcos through the viral “ITIM” campaign ad. The Vice President also expressed her support to Marcos during the several campaign sorties she joined.

Prior to the Election Day, Sen. Imee Marcos released another campaign video where she claimed that the government is allegedly not a Marcos but as Romualdez and Araneta. She seemingly took swipe at First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Last Saturday, the Commission on Elections or COMELEC proclaimed the 12 winning senators in the 2025 Elections. Sen. Imee Marcos ranked 12th with 13,339,227 votes. In her Proclamation Speech, the Senator did not mention her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, but did not miss to acknowledge former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.

“Kay Presidente Duterte, ang ating dating Pangulo na Oktubre pa lamang itinaas na ang aking kamay, at sa kanyang anak na hanggang sa huling sandali si VP Inday Sara ay ako’y kinakampanya,” the reelected Senator said.

Sen. Imee Marcos was accompanied by her sons and her mother, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, at the Proclamation Ceremony. Her in-laws were also present. According to the Senator, her triumph is a proof that when you stand for what is right, you will win.
“Ang tagumpay na ito, kahit gaano kailap at kahirap ay isang katibayan na kapag ikaw ay nanindigan para sa tama, mananalo ka,” Marcos said.
Amid the doubts of the public on her real ties with the President, Sen. Imee Marcos previously claimed that she has never fought with Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
