On Saturday, VP Sara Duterte expressed that she has no expectations from her upcoming impeachment trial, and would accept any result.
Vice President Sara Duterte is bound to face the upper chamber for her impeachment trial. Duterte is facing an impeachment complaint from the House of Representatives due to several reasons.
The six major allegations connected to her impeachment are misusing public funds while being the vice president and education department head; unexplained wealth; death threats to the president; bribery and corruption; involvement in extrajudicial killings; and destabilization, insurrection, and public disorder.
Tentatively, her trial was scheduled for July 30 under the 20th Congress. In an interview, she expressed that she has no expectations at all from the trial. According to her, she is already at peace, and whether she receives an acquittal verdict or a guilty verdict, she will accept it.
“Basta sa akin, tanggap ko kung anong mangyayari, anong magiging ending ng impeachment,” she said.
Her lawyers are preparing for the upcoming trial, and they are fully engaged because she wants a “bloodbath” to occur. She was also not surprised when Akbayan party-list nominee Chel Diokno and ML Party-list nominee Leila De Lima joined the House prosecuting team against her.
“Well, understandable kay Leila de Lima and Chel Diokno. They have been very vocal anti-Duterte since birth. In fact, wala pa sa mapa si Dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte to become president ay anti-Duterte na talaga si Sec. De Lima,” she said.
In a previous article, Duterte skipped the Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation over her remarks against President Bongbong Marcos. Apart from the trial, she is also facing sedition and grave threats charges before the DOJ.
