Ahtisa Manalo On Objectification Of Women

This is what Ahtisa Manalo shared about this sensitive matter.

Miss Universe Philippines 2025 titleholder Ahtisa Manalo recently shared her thoughts on the continuous issue of objectifying women.

The recent issue of women’s objectification that gained massive attention online involved Quezon City 4th district Rep. Jesus “Bong” Suntay’s inappropriate remarks about ABS-CBN actress Anne Curtis.

In a previous article, Suntay believed he deserved the backlash online following his remarks, but he stood by them, insisting he meant nothing malicious from something he had merely created for his analogy. Although he admitted that his analogy could have been done in a better way.

Amid the ongoing talks about this sensitive matter, beauty queen Ahtisa Manalo expressed her thoughts about it. She stressed that speaking out against sexist remarks and behavior really matters.

Despite the growing awareness about the rights of women, the Miss Universe Philippines 2025 titleholder raised her concern because many women are still suffering from being treated as objects in society.

Manalo was asked about this during her contract signing with Sparkle GMA Artist Center. She said, “I think it all starts with the perfect way of calling it out, making sure that it doesn’t pass. Yung hindi mo siya papabayaang mangyari lang. Kasi pag pinabayaan mo, you’re also part of the problem. So calling it out is a great way to do it, to let people know that it’s not okay to do that.”

The beauty queen reminded people to put themselves in the position of those who receive hurtful remarks, noting that many people are making insensitive comments without restraint but hiding behind their online identities.

She urged people to be kind, as these people who receive the hurtful comments are real individuals with feelings and have lives that can be affected.
