Baby Reportedly Denied Baptism in Albay for Crying Too Much
Mother criticizes a priest in Albay after he refused to baptize her child for crying too much during the ceremony.
Recently, Lyca Arnaldo Solinap, a Facebook user, shared her frustration online after a priest allegedly refused to baptize her baby because the child would not stop crying. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
Solinap, a resident from Barangay Buyo, Manito, Albay, shared her disappointment and sadness over what happened at her child’s baptism. According to her, the priest stopped the ceremony and told them to take the baby outside because the crying was too loud and distracting. Eventually, the baptism was not performed at all.
Lyca claimed that the whole family had prepared for the special day, godparents had made time to attend, food and clothes were ready, and everyone expected a joyful event. However, everything was cut short when the priest refused to continue.
The mother also said this wasn’t the first time the priest had treated people this way.
Many netizens reacted strongly to the post. Some expressed support for the mother, saying that crying is a normal part of having babies around and should not be a reason to cancel a baptism. Others pointed out that more understanding and patience are expected.
