Solo Parent Gets Free Ride Home from Cherry Bus
A solo parent struggling financially expressed her gratitude after getting a free ride home to Quezon from Cherry Bus.
A solo parent is a mother or father who raises a child or children without a partner’s help. This means they take care of their kids on their own, handling everything from daily needs to emotional support and financial responsibilities.
Recently, A 65-year-old solo parent, Mrs. Alma Bayron Luzarez, was filled with gratitude after finally getting the chance to return home to her barangay in Calatagbak, Quezon, Palawan. Due to financial struggles, she had no money for fare and had almost lost hope of going home.

Mrs. Luzarez had been staying in Barangay San Manuel, Puerto Princesa City, but her heart longed to return to her hometown. With no other option, she reached out to Brigada News FM for help. Thankfully, her request didn’t go unheard.
On the day of her departure, the Brigada News Team arrived at her place and helped her prepare for the journey. They brought her along with her belongings to the Cherry Bus terminal. Thanks to the kindness of Cherry Bus, Mrs. Luzarez was given a free ride home.
In addition to the bus ride, the solo parent received small amount of money to help her buy food during the trip. Though it wasn’t much, it meant a lot to someone like her who had been struggling daily just to get by.

The small act of help made a big difference in her life. She can now go back to her hometown with a lighter heart.
Mrs. Luzarez’s journey may have started with hardship, but it ended with kindness and relief. Now, she can look forward to reuniting with her community and starting a new chapter with renewed strength.
