President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has declared May 12 a special non-working holiday. This declaration is to allow the people to exercise their right to vote in the national and local elections. Usually, Election Day is declared a holiday by the Palace.

In a survey held from May 2-6, based on the survey conducted by Social Weather Stations (SWS), commissioned by the Stratbase Group, Bagong Pilipinas bet ACT-CIS Representative Erwin Tulfo topped the list with a preference rating of 45%. This is followed by Senator Bong Go with 43% preference, who is seeking reelection.

Third on the list is former Senate president Tito Sotto with 37% voter preference. As per the list, eight from the admin-backed Alyansa are on the list, such as Erwin Tulfo, Sotto, Lapid, Lacson, Binay, Villar, Cayetano, and Revilla.

The other names included in the Magic 12 of the senatorial race, according to the survey, are:

  • Reelectionist Senator Lito Lapid (Rank 4-5, 34%)
  • Broadcaster Ben Tulfo (Rank 4-5, 34%)
  • Former senator Ping Lacson (Rank 6, 32%)
  • Makati mayor Abby Binay (Rank 7-8, 31%)
  • Reelectionist Senator Ronald dela Rosa (Rank 7-8, 31%)
  • Deputy House Speaker Camille Villar (Rank 9-10, 30%)
  • Reelectionist Senator Pia Cayetano (Rank 9-10, 30%)
  • Reelectionist Senator Bong Revilla (Rank 11-12, 29%)
  • Reelectionist Imee Marcos (Rank 11-12, 29%)

This survey was done through face-to-face interviews of 1,800 registered voters nationwide. They were asked who they would elect as senators in the coming polls. The survey has sampling error margins of ±2.31% for national percentages, ±3.27% for Balance Luzon, and ±5.66% each for Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
